St. Peter’s Weekly News
July 19, 2017
July hunger awareness: Please consider educating yourself about the current famine in East Africa… it is severe and under reported. Your prayers are needed. Followed by your actions to help the people in this area of Africa, if you are able, with donations to organizations like UNICEF, https://www.unicefusa.org/mission/emergencies/food-crises/horn-africa-famine or Oxfam, https://www.oxfam.org/en/emergencies/famine-and-hunger-crisis
Food Cupboard Update: As you have noticed, we have begun a small bookshelf food cupboard to the upper hallway entrance (where you enter for the offices or Thrift Store) and it is in constant use. Thank you to everyone who has brought food to help keep it stocked. To that end, our Social Concerns committee has agreed that the food collected on the third Sunday of each month will supply our shelves rather than a community food cupboard; we are grateful for the decision to balance our needs with those of the greater community. Thank you again for your continued support of this very needed service! Deacon Pat

Property Committee: I am looking for volunteers to form a Property Committee. The mission and requirements of those on the property committee is to attend biannual meetings the fall and spring; assist in guiding property decisions for better growth and maintenance of St. Peters church; and assist in securing contractors to provide quotes for work needed. You will not be asked to perform tasks, unless you expressly volunteer to do such tasks. The primary objective of the Property Committee will be to meet and help to preserve St. Peter’s property for future use. If this sounds like something you would like to be involved in please email me at email@example.com and I will include you when our meeting date has been decided. Thank You, Your Property Chair Roy Gibson.
