 Regular Education: Resumes September 17
We are back to our normal routine in the morning. We will have Nursery Care, Godly Play, and Older Elementary and Rite 13.

Mom’s Night Out: September 29
This event is for the moms with kids in the nursery, godly play, older elementary, J2A, and or Rite 13 classes. We will be headed out to the Kitchen Bar for a kid free evening! Please let me know ASAP if you can go so we can RSVP for seating and reserving the room. Thanks! Shannon

Blessing of the Animals Service: Sunday, October 1                                                                     We will celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis on Sunday, October 1. We will offer a special children’s service that morning to give thanks for all of God’s creation. Please bring your furred, feathered, four-legged friends, as well as any stuffed animal friends to receive a special blessing. After the service, we will make a cat toy craft for donation to cats in need.

  • Donating Dog Biscuits: We also hope to have biscuits to donate on October 1 for dogs in need. A recipe from The Three Dog Bakery Cookbook is listed below. Or your family can choose to buy some dog biscuits and bring them with you! All donations will go to the Montgomery County SPCA in Abington and/or Pibbles & More Animal Rescue, which is partnering with PetValu in Flourtown, PA, and serves the surrounding Glenside area.Recipe for Howlin’ Hula Cookies (*peanut-free)

  • 8 ounces canned unsweetened crushed pineapple
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups white flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda

Schuylkill Center Presents Wildlife of Pennsylvania: October 5                                              We will once again have a Schuylkill center presentation of live animals from Pennsylvania. Experience the sights, sounds and even the touch of some of the animals. Pizza starts at 5:15 p.m., and then the show starts at 6 p.m. sharp! A donation of $10 per family, $5 per couple, or $2 per person is appreciated to offset costs.

Older Elementary Coffee House Event: October 22
The older elementary class (3rd grade-5th grade) and a parent to drive them will meet with me at Real Coffee in Wyncote for Fellowship. We will enjoy coffee, tea, hot chocolate, delish food, and conversation with each other (because we are awesome).

Fellowship on October 1 & 29                                                                                                               Fellowship after the service will be hosted by the Rite 13 Class on October 1 and by the Older Elementary Class on October 29. Help from parents of those two classes will be needed. Thanks!

New Nursery Caregivers                                                                                                                                 Alayna Gottemoller, a junior at Abington High School and Brigid Rose, a Senior at Cheltenham High School will serve in this position. Nursery care is available September through May for infants through two year olds. The sunshine nursery is located on the lower level next to the Sunday School classrooms.
